Business and Life Coaching

What is Coaching?

Coaching is about gap analysis - It closes the gap between present reality and desired reality. The coach uses the power of commitment to enable clients to achieve beneficial and measurable results in all areas of their lives. Just as sports coaches help players improve their performance, coaches help clients improve life performance. The Coach's task is to help identify the interference between a client's potential and their current performance, and remove it.

Coaching is not about giving advice. The Coach believes that the client has all the resources they need to solve their own problems, and helps them identify and remove the obstacles that prevent this from happening

Who can benefit from Coaching?

It is not unrealistic to claim that everyone needs a coach!

Coaching is especially useful for:
  • Improving management and leadership skills
  • Developing team effectiveness
  • People who want to succeed in any area of life
  • Finding a meaningful vision and mission
  • Setting and achieving goals
  • Choosing a career
  • Career planning and career change
  • Students considering potential careers
  • Subject and course choices
  • Relationships and families
  • Retirement planning

How does it work?

Coaching is a process which helps a client focus intently on various areas of life, and in so doing identify what steps they need to take to reach their desired success.

The coach uses various skills, especially the ability to listen and to ask appropriate questions, to assist the client.

A typical session will last about one hour, and at the end of each session the client will take away specific action steps to work on before the next session.

The power of coaching lies in the client carrying out the agreed action steps. Each session starts with a review and evaluation of the action steps before moving on to the next section.

Coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional therapeutic counseling. It is results orientated and helps the client construct a future life path.
